Punta Ballena Vacation Rentals — Los Cabos
Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, Mexico
Punta Ballena sits on a rocky promontory between the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez, roughly halfway along the corridor. Properties here have access to views of both oceans from the same terrace — an unusual geographic feature that makes winter whale sightings possible without leaving the property during peak season. The community is gated and quiet. It is not close to the Cabo San Lucas nightlife scene (25–30 minutes), which makes it better suited to couples, smaller groups, and travelers who prefer a self-contained, panoramic base over proximity to town.
What to know before you book
- During whale season (December–March), humpbacks are sometimes visible from the terraces in the morning.
- Both Pacific and Sea of Cortez are visible from upper-story properties — the cape's divide is visually apparent here.
- Downtown Cabo San Lucas is 25–30 minutes; the community is intentionally removed from it.
- The corridor restaurants (Las Ventanas area, Esperanza) are closer than downtown Cabo — a better evening option than driving to the marina.
